Phase out from nuclear and coal, energy transition and citizen's participation in Germany

Aiming to intensify the dialogue on environmental protection within civil society, chairman Hubert Weiger and other representatives of the biggest environmental organization in Germany (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland/FoE Germany), will join in on a dialogue program with both Japanese environmental organizations and political representatives.

 

Zur Vertiefung des zivilgesellschaftlichen Dialogs zwischen Japan und Deutschland nehmen Hubert Weiger, Vorsitzender von BUND (Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland, FoE  Germany), und weitere Vertreter dieser größten Umweltorganisation Deutschlands an einem Dialogprogramm mit japanischen Umweltorganisationen sowie Vertretern der Politik teil. Ziel ist der Meinungsaustausch zur aktuellen Situation der Energiepolitik in Deutschland und Japan und die Suche nach gemeinsamen Zukunftsperspektiven.

Symposium "Future of the automotive industry in Japan and Germany"

In both Germany and Japan, the automotive industry is one of the key industries. However, the sector is at a crossroads due to current developments (such as digitization). The question arises to which extend the challenges faced by the German and Japanese automotive industries are similar and what recommendations for action result from this. It includes current prospects for climate change policy and the status of electrical power systems including nuclear power issues, status sand support policy of renewable energy as well as social issues and political feasibility. Furthermore, long-term vision and scenarios for promoting an energy transition are discussed, including community power and credit systems. Finally, policy recommendations are proposed for promoting energy transition in Japan.
